Chceš pořádnou porci brunche s asijským twistem? No tak to je BA-LĂM!
Nebudu lhát, když mi o tom už x měsíců zpět řekla Ivet, moc se mi tam nechtělo. Říkala jsem si...asie a na brunch? A nějak mě nic moc neoslovilo. Každopádně mi pak Ivet poslala jejich BA-LĂM set - talíř sladkého a slaného a bylo jasné, že tam příště, až Ivet přijede do Prahy, půjdeme.
No a to se stalo v úterý. Měla jsem totiž pracovní víkend, takže jsem si v úterý vzala náhradní volno a vyrazily jsme po podnicích a ten den jsme byly opravdu kavárenské povalečky. I přesto, že bylo docela hezky, sluníčko svítilo, venku i tak byla zima a tak se toho nedalo nic moc dělat, než "vymetat" podniky.
Začaly jsme tedy snídaní/brunchem v BA-LĂM v Karlíně. Jak jsem už zmínila, já si dala sladko-slaný talíř plný dobrot, které vidíš na fotkách, a chai latte, Ivet měla (jak jinak) než lívance a butterfly pea latter.
Musíš říci, že to bylo vše moc dobré, ale asi opravdu až zbytečně obří porce.
Po brunchi jsme chtěly jet do Kunsthalle na výstavu, nicméně když jsme tam dojely, tak jsme zjistily, že je v úterý jako jediný den zavřeno.
No nic... takže jsme se šly projít na Hrad, kde jsme zjistily, že jsou zavřené i ty zahrady okolo hradu, včetně pak letohrádku královny Anny. Od hradu jsme se tedy prošly až na Letnou a to rovnou do Cafe Letka na vínko, černý čaj a svařený mošt.
Tam jsme měly trochu krizi, co vlastně budeme dělat - příště fakt musíme plánovat a nebýt úplně tak spontánní. Takže zase z Letky procházkou do Stromovky, kde jsme se rozhodly, že zajdeme do Cafe Hrnek na další čaj. Tam jsme si upřímně měly dát jejich lákavého skořicového šneka, jen jsme byly ještě přecpaný ze snídaně a plus teda šneky mají vystavený hned u vchodu, což možná naláká lidi z venku, zároveň to na sebe chytne veškrný nečistoty z tý rušný ulice, co tam je.
No a odtud jsem dojely na Náměstí Republiky, kde jsme si zašly do Cacaa na náš oblíbený Club sendvič, který je fakt bezkonkurenční a zatím jsem prostě nikde neměla lepší.
Takže to byl návštěva Ivet v kostce, kdy to tentokrát bylo opravdu jen o podnicích, pití a jídle!

I'm not going to lie, when Ivet told me about this place months ago, I didn't really want to go. I was like...Asia and for brunch? And it somehow nothing really appealed to me. Anyway, then Ivet sent me their BA-LÃM set - a plate of sweet and savory stuff and it was clear that we would go there next time Ivet comes to Prague.
Well, that happened on Tuesday. I had a working weekend, so I took Tuesday off and we went to that place and that day we were really café loafers. Even though it was quite nice weather, the sun was shining, it was still cold outside so there wasn't much to do but "sweep" the food spots.
So we started with breakfast/brunch at BA-LĂM in Karlín. As I mentioned, I had a sweet and salty plate full of the goodies you see in the photos, and a chai latte, Ivet had (how different) than the pancakes and butterfly pea latter.
You have to say it was all very good, but probably really unnecessarily huge portions.
After brunch, we wanted to go to the Kunsthalle to see the exhibition, however when we got there, we discovered that it was closed on Tuesday as the only day.
Anyway... so we went for a walk to the Castle, where we found out that the gardens around the castle were closed, including the Queen Anne's Summerhouse. So we walked from the castle to Letná and straight to Cafe Letka for wine, black tea and mulled cider.
There we had a bit of a crisis about what we were actually going to do - next time we really need to plan and not be so spontaneous. So we walked from Letka to Stromovka, where we decided to go to Cafe Hrnek for another tea. There we honestly should have had their tempting cinnamon snail, only we were still stuffed from breakfast and plus they have snails on display right by the entrance, which might lure people from outside, while at the same time catching all the dirt from the busy street there.
And from there we drove to the Náměstí Republiky, where we went to Cacao for our favorite Club sandwich, which is really unbeatable and I just haven't had a better one anywhere yet.
So that was the Ivet visit in a nutshell, where this time it was really all about the businesses, the drinks and the food!
